Overview
PJ Dick provided preconstruction, Construction Management at Risk, and general construction services for The Metropolitan, a six-story, 42-unit luxury condominium in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood. Constructed on a constrained, high-profile urban site, the project includes a below-grade parking level and features high-end residential design elements such as open floor plans, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and private outdoor spaces including terraces, balconies, and roof gardens.
PJ Dick self-performed the concrete and carpentry work, ensuring quality and schedule control throughout construction. Delivered on the original May 2007 schedule, the $22 million project showcases a blend of luxury, security, and convenience, and was recognized as a finalist for the Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania Building Excellence Award.
