Overview

PJ Dick provided CM at Risk services for the $4 million interior renovation of an existing six-story, 132-room hotel into a new housing facility for Family House, a nonprofit organization supporting patients and families traveling to Pittsburgh for medical treatment. Completed in 2022, the expanded 60,000-square-foot renovation created 65 affordable, accessible housing units and office space to consolidate Family House operations under one roof. The project scope grew from the original 19,000 square feet after mold and water damage were discovered, requiring careful scope coordination with Family House’s contractors. PJ Dick’s Self-Perform Group completed selective interior and exterior demolition, concrete work, a new patio and sidewalk, an extended porch overhang, and two new exterior doors.
