Infection control risk assessment (ICRA) practices were implemented to protect patients and staff throughout the project. The project added 42 beds in total: 28 for Med/Surg and 14 for the Intensive Care Unit. The private patient rooms are single occupancy with a full bath and shower, family zone with sleeper sofa and workspace, individual thermostats for patient climate control and hand-washing sinks for medical professionals. The rooms can be adapted for use as a full-size ICU room or a step-down room. The project received an Master Builders Association Award of Excellence in the category of Best Renovation Construction over $7 million.
