Overview

PJ Dick was the general contractor for the construction of an 88-bed, 200,000-sf, seven-story tower addition and renovations to various floors of the existing 500,000-sf UPMC Passavant Hospital. This tower consists of a flagship Cancer Center utilizing the latest in-patient treatment and care for both radiation and medical oncology, an emergency department expansion, surgery expansion for inpatient and outpatient surgery, PACU, ICU, three floors of medical and surgical beds, a helipad and employee parking areas. The project also included upgrades to the Central Plant, including a 30,000-sft expansion with a 4.5 MW emergency generator plant, and greatly improved boiler and chiller capacity.
